Immediately upon our first meeting with Piry, we knew which story we wanted to base her documentary on – the amazing story of her finding her sister after the war.  Piry told the story with such passion and it was so enthralling, we knew it would be perfect. However, we didn’t want to create a simple sit-down interview type of documentary, so we began thinking laterally about how we could represent her story. We decided to play around with the idea of using cut aways, almost re enactments. We began overlapping these with images of Piry telling her story by using a split screen. This allowed us to really extend Piry’s story further.
