Diana was born in Poland in a small town of Wysokie Litowsk. She was an only child and she and her mother arrived in Australia when she was 6. She grew up in Shepparton, where her father had settled two years before, on an orchard. Plums, pears, peaches and more pears filled her days. She had 3 children, all boys, including a set of twins. She’s now a proud grandmother of 6 with 3 great grandchildren and 3 on the way. She’s been a volunteer most of her life starting with United Jewish Relief Fund during the war, then Montefiore, Mt Scopus and National Council of Jewish Women, which she joined in 1953. She counts herself as a lucky, tolerant and generous woman. Her passion is National Council and ILAN, the Israel Foundation for Handicapped Children. |
